Los Angeles Surf Forecast - for Wednesday - 3/17/2010

The new WNW-NW swell will be peaking on Wednesday…the angle is way too steep for North County…but the South Bay should be able to pull in a good chunk of it. North County spots will see a little more of the S-SW swell but it won’t produce much more than knee-waist high waves at the top spots.

In the South Bay look for most of the average spots to see surf in the chest-shoulder high range while the standout NW breaks see some shoulder-head high+ sets sneaking in on the lower tides. Points and reefs will have the best shape.

Winds and weather look pretty nice again on Wednesday. Mostly sunny skies with some light/variable to light offshore winds on tap for the morning. Variable onshore winds around the 10-14 knot range will develop through the afternoon.
