Los Angeles Surf Forecast - For Tuesday - 1/05/10

If you jumped straight into this page make sure to read the full Socal Forecast for more of a broad-scale look at our current swell/conditions, as well as the long-range forecasts.

Tuesday looks surfable…but only really through the South Bay. North LA is pretty shadowed from the WNW energy and the weak S-SW swells haven’t been showing very well either (so I am not expecting that to change tomorrow). Look for mostly flat to about knee high surf through the average North County spots…maybe a few waist highers sneaking through at the spots that like the windswell.

South Bay breaks will be in the waist-chest high range on the lower morning tides…again nothing huge but still a bit more rideable than other areas. The top South Bay breaks will be in the waist-chest occasional shoulder high range…particularly by the afternoon and we can expect more consistency out of the bigger sets by late in the day.

Winds look good…E-ENE around 10-15 knots with stronger gusts near the passes and canyons. Light/variable winds on tap through the afternoon.

Here are the tides
