Los Angeles Surf Forecast - For Tuesday - 1/19/10

Make sure to read the full region forecast...it will help this one make sense, (Not promising any miracles though). Click here for the full forecast www.socalsurf.com.

New W swell mix moves in on Tuesday…starting a little slow across North County but showing strong through the South Bay.

Most W facing spots will see consistent shoulder-overhead surf while the South Bay standouts see sets going overhead+ to well overhead at times. Look for more size and consistency to fill in through the afternoon.

Shapewise/Windwise the South Bay will have the cleanest conditions thanks to the mornings SE winds, but water quality will not be good…basically all of LA will have just completed a giant toilet flush right into the Santa Monica Bay, which is probably a good reason to skip the session.

Look for SE winds around 10-15+ knots for the morning, along with stronger gusts at the well exposed spots. Rain on tap for the morning as well. S-SSW winds will shift through in the afternoon building into 15-25+ knot range with stronger near 35+ knot gusts as the storm settles in. More rain and a chance for Thunderstorms for the evening/night as well.
