Los Angeles Surf Forecast – Monday – Fading NW swell with a few fun ones

The Swell
The NW swell (285-300) that hit over the weekend will be slowly fading on Monday as it mixes with some background SW swell (200-220) and some minor local windswell.

Waves
Average NW facing breaks will be in the waist-chest high range with some near shoulder high sets sneaking through on the morning low-tide. The standout NW spots in the South Bay will be in the chest-head high range with a few bigger head high+ sets showing on those lower tides. SW facing spots, mostly through North County, will be smaller and less consistent. Most breaks will be in the knee high+ range…standouts slightly bigger with some chest high sets showing at times. Size and consistency will fade slowly throughout the day.

Winds
Mostly light and variable to light offshore winds on tap in the morning. W-WNW winds 10-12 knots move in through the afternoon but back down again later in the early evening…might be worth watching for a evening cleanup (don’t hold your breath though).
