Los Angeles Surf Forecast – Friday – I (heart) windswell…well no, not really

The Swell
New NW windswell moves into the region throughout the day as local winds increase. Small SW swell (200-220) holds in the background.

Waves
Average spots will be in the knee high range through the morning…while the better NW facing breaks in the South Bay stay closer to waist high. Building afternoon WNW-NW windswell will add some size to the winter breaks, pushing wave heights into the waist-chest high+ range, but onshore winds are likely to hack up conditions.

Winds
Looks like light onshore/sideshore N-NW winds for the morning…mostly in the 5-10 knot range. Look for NW winds 10-20 knots for the afternoon…possibly stronger around sundown.
