Los Angeles Surf Forecast - for Thursday - 2/11/2010

The surf continues to back down as the WNW-NW swell fades out…there will still be enough to ride but overall it looks smaller than the last couple of days. North County spots will be in the knee-high range with some inconsistent waist high+ sets showing at the better exposed combo breaks (during the low tide…and if you aren’t that tall).

South Bay breaks will be bigger…mostly waist-chest high at the average exposed spots…with a few chest-shoulder high sets at the standouts as the tide gets settled.

Winds look good…mostly light and variable to light-offshore conditions early and then just variable winds on tap for the afternoon. If the winds can stay below 10 knots for most of the day there is a shot at some clean-up near sundown.
